My February Hotpicks: Top 5

How can it be February already?!?

One of my new years resolutions was to save money but I guess that hasn’t happened when there’s so many beautiful things out there!

Here are my Top 5 for February…

1.Laura Mercier: Silk Crème Moisturising photo Edition Foundation 30ml

I may have bought this on a splurge not thinking about what I was actually buying but I am soooo glad I did. This foundation is so light and great for photos. It does exactly what I says on the tin. I find this very similar to the Giorgio Armani luminous foundation I mentioned in my foundation review post except this is a matt finish. My skin has been very dry recently so every drop of foundation I apply normally shows it up but this covers it well and moisturises at the same time. Only sad thing is how expensive this is and its such a small amount! I got this from SpaceNK, the only place i’ve found it in Newcastle and it was about £35.00. If I find a good dupe ill be sure to let you know!

2. Bobbi Brown: Skin Foundation Stick

I have this is the shade Espresso. I bought this for contouring before you ask! Bobbi Brown has such a good range of colours for all skin shades out there so there’s something for everyone. This stick is incredibly moistening and very easy to blend and does look as dark as you’d think. Its very lightweight and doesn’t look too heavy when contouring, I’m definitely going to invest in some more shades for a foundation base as it makes your skin feeling smooth and flawless. This stick costs £29.50 and depending on what your using for will last you a long time so worth a buy if you have combination/dry skin.

3. BECCA: Shimmering skin perfector pressed

OK, so another splurge but how could I not!!!! For those who do not know this is a highlighter by BECCA that is to die for! What happens in SpaceNK stays at SpaceNK haha.

I got the shade Champagne Gold. To start the packaging is beautiful, I use this over my cheekbones and cupids bow for a gorgeous highlight. This is a pressed powder but there are lots more highlights out there you can use as this one does break the bank a little at £32.00 but for me it was a must have! Perfect for Strobing and those summer nights coming up for a illuminate glow! Great for all skin types.

4. Nars: Radiant Creamy Concealer

The Best Concealer EVER. This concealer is full coverage and very thick so a little goes a long way. A perfect investment for those looking to cover any dark circles or wrinkles. Many of my friends have tried this from my recommendation and also swear by it. Its great for contouring and baking ( please see previous post) and stays on all day too! For me I find that it doesn’t crease and really brightens my under eye, great to hide a bad hangover lol.

Nars have just opened their new store in House of Fraser in the Metrocentre go check it out…( maybe put a limit on your spend haha)

5. NYX: HD Finishing Powder

Thank god Boots have finally starting stocking this. Nyx have been around for a while and apart from having a UK site they have also starting stocking at Boots. Nyx reminds me so much of MAC but less expensive. Some products are even better. You MUST buy the butter lip gloss its heaven. Anyway.. this product is great for a smooth finish over your make up to stop it falling off during the day. I have the translucent shade so that it just illuminates my skin rather then adding more colour to my face. Bargain buy at only £8.00.

Stay tunes for next months Top 5…Gx
