Revolutionary Sunday Dinners

Did you know Revolution does Sunday Dinners?

Well, they do now!

Last week I visited my local Revolution bar in Newcastle to try their new Sunday Dinner menu and cocktail lists.

Revolution have launched a new Sunday Night Soul session for lovers of Soul and food! Yes, that would be me and my idea of a PERFECT Sunday!

Soul on Sunday offers a night of Fabulous Roasts, a live Soul Band and a soul and funk DJ!

So how was it?

To tell the truth, I was a little nervous about trying the Sunday Dinners at Revolution. I’m used to a good old fashioned Sunday dinner in a pub!

The first thing I’ll say about Revolution is the creativity behind its marketing, food and cocktails always impresses me!

The menu’s are done brilliantly, old school style like a newspaper inviting you to look in!

For starters we tried the Pea soup with “posh” cheese on toast and Halloumi and Houmous. At first I really wasn’t too sure if these starters were a good match with a traditional Sunday Dinner but they worked really well. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Pea soup but the Halloumi dish was to die for! I really hope they end up putting this on their main menu in the future!

The Sunday Lunch was amazing. The portion size’s were perfect, there was plenty to go round, the veg was delicious, soft and the juices they were cooked in really came through. The meat was really good quality too! for me that’s really important. The menu offers plenty of choice of meats but also plenty of extras to add on the side. We got mashed swede but struggled to eat it all due to the amazing portion size.

I’m conscience when writing this that I’m gonna run out of words but the whole dish was scrumptious!

For desert I got the cheesecake. I was way too full but there’s always room for desert right?!?

Very similar to the starters, I felt there wasn’t that much selection however once that cheesecake came out, O…M…G it was heaven! I couldn’t finish it all again, it was a big portion.

The menu has offers to choose from, either 2 meals for £15 or 3 for £18. For the portion size this is amazing value. I really enjoyed it and was dancing along to the soul music while eating, my perfect dinner date! lol.

The staff were very accommodating which I find every time I visit this branch. We sampled a few new cocktails which were fun and fruity and the staff really knew which ones to match with our taste buds. I love it when staff know their cocktails.

Anywho……I’m not sure how long Revolution will be doing his menu so trust me when I say you don’t want to miss this, get yourself down!
