Last week I joined Rachael Kershaw from “Life in Geordieland” and the other lovely NE Bloggers for a night to remember at the Marco Pierre White restaurant in Newcastle.
The restaurant is based within the Hotel Indigo in central Newcastle upon Tyne and in an ideal spot for a perfect city break. Inside the hotel offers a high class, modern décor and excellent customer service, a perfect setting for a romantic meal or special occasion.
We were treat to an amazing 5 course taster menu designed by the head chef, well renown Paul Amer.
The restaurant has been open for 5 years this year and Paul has worked here since the start. You’ll know Marco Pierre White as a steakhouse, on an average weekend they sell 80% of their steaks!!!! This time Paul anted to try something a it different and boy were we in for a treat!
Starter: Rillette of Smoked Mackerel, Lightly Pickled Vegetables
Slow Roasted Tomato Soup, Basil Pesto
Lightly Curried Smoked Haddock Risotto
Slow Cooked Belly Pork, Vale of Mowbray Black Pudding, Pommes Puree, Roasted Cauliflower, Caramelised Cauliflower Puree
Dessert: Raspberry & Passion Fruit Panna Cotta, Mini Meringue, Raspberry Sorbet
Conclusion
The food was beautiful at Marco Pierre Newcastle, I must say I don’t eat much of a variation of food but trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and I did for this evening.
I’m so glad I did, the food was delicious! My fave was the Smoked Haddock Risotto!
Marco Pierre White restaurant is definitely one of the best places in the toon. Perfect for a date night or even a family meal for a special occasion.
I can’t believe I haven’t actually been here until now and will be definitely going back to try the famous steak!
It’s on my list of Newcastle restaurants to revisit. Nice pictures!
