The restaurant is based within the Hotel Indigo in central Newcastle upon Tyne and in an ideal spot for a perfect city break. The hotel offers a high class, modern décor and excellent customer service, a perfect setting for a romantic meal or special occasion.
We were treat to an amazing 5 course taster menu designed by the head chef, well renown Paul Amer.
The restaurant has been open for 5 years this year and Paul has worked here since the start. You’ll know Marco Pierre White as a steakhouse, on an average weekend they sell 80% of their steaks!!!! This time Paul anted to try something a it different and boy were we in for a treat!
Course 1: Rillette of Smoked Mackerel, Lightly Pickled Vegetables
Course 2: Slow Roasted Tomato Soup, Basil Pesto
Course 3: Lightly Curried Smoked Haddock Risotto
Course 4: Slow Cooked Belly Pork, Vale of Mowbray Black Pudding, Pommes Puree, Roasted Cauliflower, Caramelised Cauliflower Puree
Course 5: Raspberry & Passion Fruit Panna Cotta, Mini Meringue, Raspberry Sorbet
The food was beautiful I must say I don’t eat much of a variation of food but trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and I did for this evening. I’m so glad I did, the food was delicious! My fave was the Smoked Haddock Risotto!
I can’t believe I haven’t actually been here until now and will be definitely going back to try the famous steak!
