Flawless Skin Week: Steps to an Even More Beautiful You

When you already spend a lot of time on your skin, you’re probably quite happy with it already. Sometimes, it seems like no matter what we do, it just doesn’t work with us the way we thought – and certainly not the way media keeps pretending that it will.

Say what you want, but washing your face twice a day and using moisturiser regularly is not always enough to get that flawless and smooth face we have been looking for.

It’s hard to say what exactly is enough, but this beauty routine challenge might just be what it takes to wake up with a fresh and even face.

Exercise thirty minutes every day

It’s common knowledge that a healthy and able-bodied person should manage to incorporate thirty minutes of activity each day. It’s easier said than done, though, and that’s even if you don’t count the weekend as days at all.

Try it out this week and see if you don’t notice a difference on your skin; research has proven that sedentary adults who started a regular exercise routine actually showed a reversal in the ageing of their skin when it was studied under a microscope. The fountain of youth may taste quite salty, in other words.

These are people who didn’t use to exercise, guys, and by getting active, their skin looked like that of a much younger person. If you’re still young, get moving every day this week and enjoy a youthful-looking face for long; if you’re not young anymore, get moving, and you’ll look a lot younger in any way.

Be gentle with your skin

It seems like we’re killing our skin with love, at least if we are to believe dermatologists all over the world. One of the worst habits we have is to be too harsh on our skin, scrubbing it clean, and overusing products in the hope of washing ourselves to a perfect and flawless face.

All of this will just lead to an increased microscopic inflammation that causes your skin to be red and blemished rather than smooth and healthy. Treat your skin gently this week, lay off the harsh exfoliation, and let your regular facial wash slough off those dead skin cells instead. It’s a good idea to invest in super smooth hotel quality face cloths if you don’t like to wash your face with your bare hands.

Get seven hours of sleep

You really should get this every night already, but life is unpredictable sometimes. Whenever you’ve had a particularly bad skin week and don’t seem to be able to blame in on those hormones, you may want to have a closer look at the amount of sleep you’re getting. Beauty sleep is real and vital for a fresh and healthy-looking face.

It’s one of those tips you’re going to pair with drinking enough water; if you haven’t been hydrated enough and lacked sleep as well, it’s no wonder you feel kind of grey and soggy when you look in the mirror. Get this in order first and see if it doesn’t solve your problems.

Although we can’t have everything we want, smooth and radiant skin is certainly something many of us have been putting at the top of our wish list for a while. With these healthy habits, you’ll be a few steps closer.

    Great post! There is so much more to skin care than using a ton of expensive products (although I am a bit of a sucker for these!). I am a true believer of no matter what your routine poor diet combined with a lack of sleep and water will show in your skin – I know that when my skin isn’t looking good one or more of those things will be a key element.
