Fenty Beauty launched in the UK on Friday and I managed to get my hand on some beauties!!!!
I was lucky enough to be near Harvey Nichols where Rihanna has launched her exclusive make up brand Fenty Beauty for the first time.
This truly is a cult make up brand already! So many people have been speculating about this range, how could they not!!! With 40 shades of foundations alone, the range was designed so that “every woman everywhere would be included”.
Where do I start?
Foundation: That’s a good base! (bad joke). OK, so i’ve already mentioned 40 shades, is that really such a good thing? I’ve already had people worrying about what shade they would be. Is it putting people off buying online as they cant get to a Harvey Nichols near them? Well, we will have to see. Personally, I think it fab! Never before have I seen a counter with so many shades!
The foundation itself is very water based and applies matt. It claims to be suitable for all skin types. Obviously I’ve tried it and a little goes a long way! I love the coverage yet it looks like a skin finish, not cakey at all! As for the matt finish, if you wanted more of a dewy look you can add liquid highlight as you can with any other foundations! To be honest, I didn’t think she would be able to design a foundation that suits all skin types, but I think she’s done it!
The brand is fun! With a small collection at first, there are bigger and better things coming our way! Some of the pieces are magnetic and ideal for putting in your bag on a night and not taking up to much room and VERSATILLE! So many of her products are versatile including her Killawatt Freestyle Highlighters!
Fenty Beauty highlighter has 2 highlighters in one package! 1 for a subtle glow and one for a mega shine!!!! Personally I prefer the subtle glow because trust me, its more that subtle. her formula is creamy and very pigmented as you can see. The other side is amazing but not something you can wear everyday…well, actually if you got it flaunt it! This can also be used under the brow bone as a highlight or as eyeshadow alone.
Rihanna has been working on this collection for over 2 years now an as mentioned before we will be braced with more and exciting things from the brand after its first launch! The first launch as seen the brand keep things simple and launch its key products, Rihanna’s favourites and essentials!
The collection only has 1 lip product: The Gloss Bomb! It has a secret scent to it and promises to give an “explosive” shine! a subtle rose colour its great on all shades! Not too drying and very nourishing on the lips. Job well done! I cant wait to see more lip products from her in the future.
Last but most importantly: PRICE
I think this was the biggest thing people were talking about before it released in the UK. The cost of her products are affordable. I would say slightly cheaper to MAC but very comparable.
The foundation is £16, the lip gloss £16 and the highlight also £26.Her packaging also reminds me of KKW however Rihanna has been working on this for over 2 years so that speaks for itself!
