Novotel Manchester City Centre, Place To Stay

Manchester is the capital of the North and I tried and tested the beautiful Novotel Manchester.

It really hurts to me to say it’s the capital of the North, because of course, Newcastle has my heart. If you read my blog you’ll see I’m also a massive fan of Liverpool. But Manchester is one place I’ve never had the chance to explore.

In the heart of the City Centre, the Novotel Manchester is tucked away just off Portland Street. It really is a stone throw away from shops, bars, and convention complex. We had a lovely weekend walking and exploring the places and the lovely Northern Quarter!

Novotel Manchester

There are 2 Novotels based in Manchester, one in the outer west and then the Manchester City Centre.

The City Centre hotel is very modern and bright colors. The halls and rooms are decorated with wall maps of Manchester. I really love that the hotel is not just a chain but makes you feel at home and is proud of the city it is in.

The rooms are very comfortable. We stayed in the standard room and was really surprised with the hidden extras you get for this room.  The room has a large desk that if I had thought about it, I could have got some work done. Of course free Wifi too! But I was too busy having fun for that!

The room has a queen bed, sofa bed and the biggest TV ever! The room also came with a safe and mini bar and a Nespresso machine with my boyfriend was very impressed with!

We got complimentary bathrobes and slippers and a bose system in our room! I really wish at this point I was staying extra. I was mega impressed with the fair trade products you got in the bathroom alongside a travel set that won’t leave you needing anything else while you’re there on your stay!

The Rooms

The facilities are all modern and I loved the feel of the room. The zebra style carpets are totally my style!

As I mentioned above I love the walls. Our room had the backdrop of Manchester and it was really fab! The beds are always super comfortable in the Novotel’s.

The hotel comes with large and busy conference facilities as well as leisure facilities which were located on our floor. The hotel has a wellbeing suit with a hammam, sauna and gym facilities.  There are 8 conference rooms all modern and great for all types of events!

I love staying at the Novotel Manchester as there is something for everyone, couples, families, groups, and children too! the hotel lobby is equipped with top of the range computer games for kids to play as well as a grand piano if guests want to entertain!

Exchange restaurant

The rooms do have room service but attached to the Hotel is the Exchange restaurant. We dined that night at the restaurant. The restaurant has a really cosy feel with the hanging basket, kids area so the adults can sit and chill and comfy sofa areas to sit and catch up. You honestly don’t need to leave the hotel at all!

We had the steak, and our fave from the ropewalks restaurant and the curry too. Check out my last post below

for that restaurant in Liverpool here. The steak and it was cooked to perfection

For starters we had camembert and it was enough to share but i got the nachos too! It’s not hard to see why!

Overall, for the price of the Novote Manchester and standard of hotel it is, alongside the friendly and lovely staff, I don’t see why you would need to go anywhere else to stay In Manchester if you are looking to save money to spend exploring.

I really want to visit Manchester, I’ve only ever flown from there! Sounds like the Novotel would be a perfect base to explore from.

I love Manchester but have to play it down because my husband is from there and I don’t want him getting a big head! LOL! So I tease him that it rains all the time! The reality is I LOVE it, it’s such a beautiful city and I love that it’s so much bigger than Newcastle!

I really need to plan a proper weekend break soon, it’s been a while!
