It certainly seems the Scream Factory is the place to be in the North East this Halloween.
I was invited to the VIP event and I jumped to the chance as last year I couldn’t make it. I am so glad I was joined by my fellow bloggers because I had been nervous for a whole week leading up the event!
The Scram Factory is located in the perfect setting, the nursery grounds behind a museum! The Scream Factory is the North East’s largest scare event and set in Redcar at the KirkleathMuseumeam. I was thinking at first that it is a long way to travel but I can assure you, it is more than 1000% worth it!
What to expect
Well, this is kinda hard. I don’t want to give it away! truth be told, I don’t think I could entirely do that because it is so unpredictable! Upon arrival at the VIP event, we had lovely snacks and hot chocolate with fizz to calm our nerves. I’m not sure from what at this point. we had already been scared by Killer clowns and zombies who were entertained, to say the least. We hadn’t even started the event and my blood pressure was sky high!
We got chatting to this couple who had been there 3 times I already so I asked. Why would you come again if you know what to expect? is not that the point of being scared?
They told me that there is no way to know what to expect and this time it’s bigger and better than ever. So when the girls Pixie and Melissa were added to my group of 10 I was relieved! We were joined by our plus ones and 4 guys, so with people, we didn’t know too!
The Extreme Tour
The extreme tour takes about 1 hour, quicker if you run because you’re too scared! The tour is set amongst pitch black tunnels joint by rooms set bu different horror movies along the way. Expect the unexpected!
Actors along the way help to reenact movies and “join” you along the tour. Sometimes helping you speed up into the next room and before you know it you’re thrown off by track by visual illusion rooms and your tits over arse! Or your shouting out for your group and grabbing any hand you can because it’s pitch black and you have no sense of where you are or what is next to you! Expect small spaces and constant running on adrenaline.
I can tell you that you soon know you’re group well after an hour. Maybe take something for your throat because you WILL NOT STOP SCREAMING!
The tour is great for loads of different groups, even a date! I would love to take my work friends for team bonding. I know they would not stop talking about it for months. It’s a once in a lifetime, or at least once a year opportunity that you can’t miss!
The event was not allowed to be filmed or photos took which is fab! They have worked so hard to make sure that it is not spoilt for people going and they get the full effect!
If you go in a group then the 10th person goes free and trust me, you wanna take as many people as you can!
The Extreme Tour at The Scream Factory is open till 31st October this year so plenty of time for you to book up and go now! You can buy your tickets here!
