Summer Dishes At Revolution De Cuba Newcastle

Revolution De Cuba is one of Newcastle’s fave new hot spots and it’s not hard to see why! With the perfect city centre location, a huge venue and amazing rooftop, it’s going to be a busy summer!

The restaurant/bar is open from 11.30 every day and has disabled access too. I’m always looking for new places to eat and I went along to try the new summer menu.

Given that Revolution De Cuba is a Cuban style haven its no surprise they have a great selection of tapas to choose from. On Sunday you can grab a 2-4-1 deal but every other day the dishes are 3 for £14.

Tapas At Revolution De Cuba

I wasn’t too sure how good of a deal this was given that I thought tapas dishes were traditionally small. But these dishes are NOT!

Chicken Rumba Skewers

Revolution De Cuba Chicken Skewers

The Skewers were so tender and marinated in dark soy sauce. You get a fair few skewers which are served on bed of sweet potato with crushed chilli which is an added extra to the dish that tastes delicious.

Tostadas

These are new to the menu and I haven’t had these before until now. I opted for the Lime and coconut prawn Tostadas. They were AMAZING! I’ll definitely be going back for these alone. Crunchy and full of flavour with added sour cream, lettuce and pickled chillies.

Nachos

Revolution De Cuba nachos

It’s not Spanish tapas without nachos, is it! If you a veggie they have a Jackfruit chilli option but I went for the shredded beef chilli. Again the portion is great for sharing and you get a lot of shredded beef too! with added mango salsa and Manchego cheese, they were the perfect side dish.

Revolution De Cuba Summer menu

If you are not a lover of tapas don’t worry as there is plenty of other dishes to choose from on the menu.

We went for lunch date so opted for more lighter dishes however there are lots of Main Plates to choose from if you want to dine later.

Lunch and Brunch

Served till 5pm it’s the perfect choice for a catch up or brunch with friends.

We tried the Cuban Sandwich which was the jump out choice for us. Ham and cheese with pulled pork too! Pickle and Emmental Cheese with roasted Garlic butter and Mustard. My mouth is watering all over again. And what’s best, it comes with fries too!

They do an offer on the fries and you can upgrade for an extra £1 so we opted for the cheesy Cuba Fries! All of that for £7.00!

The Menu was very impressive and there are so many new items for the summer I need to go back and try. Also, the menu is very impressive for Vegans and Veggies too!

Lunch Offers

There is a big selection of lunch dishes for £5-£6 and like I mentioned the portion size if fab!

I visited here last summer with my teen and loved it, I am having my hen party at the weekend in Newcastle and I might suggest to the girls to head here for cocktails. xx

Ooooh the food looks good! We actually tried to go up there over the Bank Holiday weekend to enjoy the sunshine and the roof terrace was HEAVING! We’ll need to plan a bit better next time and get ourselves up there a little earlier!
