A unique hotel, The Stair Arms is only 10 minutes away from Edingburgh park and ride in Pathhead.
The Stair Arms has been around since 1831 when it was first a coaching house. Now, its a grand hotel with large gardens, bustling restaurant and perfect wedding venue.
Owned by the Ramsay family, the hotel has recently been refurbished, and I went along to check it out.
We stayed in a twin room. The room was large and the decor was very modern. The room was equipped with all the facilities and the beds were super comfortable. The thing I noticed immediately about the hotel was how clean it was. Our bathroom was large and full with top of the range bathroom fittings.
The hotel has both the perfect space inside and out for weddings. They cater for 4 different packages of weddings available at the hotel. The gardens outside have children play areas and are perfect for a summer wedding. Whilst we were staying there was a wedding and we saw first hand how tot staff plan or the big day and put a lot of pride in making it unforgettable.
They have 5-star reviews from those who have experienced their big day here.
The Stair Arms – Food
The restaurant area is a large and art of the newly refurbished area. You can sit in the lunge are however there is plenty of seats in the main area. The staff were really lovely and friendly and offered to give me a substitution for gluten-free options.
The restaurant was so busy! And It made me smile! It was so nice to see people coming from different villages and the city centre to eat in this restaurant.
The menu changes with the seasons and food are locally sourced. Since my last time in Scotland trying Scallops for the first time, I opted for them again. They did not disappoint. We ordered from the specials menu and we also got their own version of chicken parmesan. Except mine came without the breadcrumbs. It was super fresh and the chips were amazing!
I have the say the desert was the best ice cream sundae I HAVE EVER HAD! That is a bold statement, I know. I am a sweet tooth and I love a good dessert.
The Stair Arms get their ice cream delivered from a famous ice cream producer in Musselbrough and they have an ice cream cart at the front of the restaurant. it is perfect for summer. However, for the sundae the used this ice cream and made a Scottish tablet sundae. I had never had a Scottish tablet before and it was the perfect mix.
*gifted stay, however, opinions are my own
